History of Jack's

Where it began...

We are Andy & Dawn Jack and live in Melrose, in the Scottish Borders. We started The Jack's Little Catering Company in 2010, due to local demand arising from us being the resident Caterers at Melrose Golf Club. Members began asking us to cater for their outside functions so we obliged and our little catering company was born!

Rugby Club

After a couple of years, we were approached by Melrose Rugby Club to take over the Bar and Catering there.

On our first night, we were expecting 15 players post-training and instead 27 showed up!

The word spread quickly and on the next training night, 84 hungry rugby players turned up to eat!

During our time at Melrose Rugby Club, we hosted many successful events, from Charity nights to Ladies Days, as well as Ex-players lunches. We were proud to cater a number of successful Charity Dinners for sporting royalty, including one with David Campese for over 160 people.

We've been privileged to be amongst lots of the rugby greats, including Doddie Weir, Craig Chalmers, Gregor Townsend, Sean Lineen and many more. Aside from hosting charity events, we have been involved in catering for professional coaching camps etc.

The Shop

When the unexpected opportunity came up to take over 'Maid by Marion' cafe in Melrose we made the fastest decision ever and in the space of two weeks had negotiated with the landlord and were excited to launch our latest adventure - Jack's Coffee & gift shop!

We look forward to seeing lots of our lovely locals and hope you love the shop as much as we do!
